Dalai Lama receives Mahatma Gandhi peace prize in Bodh Gaya

The grand daughter of Mahatma Gandhi, Ila Gandhi, presented the award on the fourth day of the ten-day Kalachakra initiations.

Tibetan Spiritual Leader, the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso on Wednesday was presented the Mahatma Gandhi International Award for Peace and Reconciliation in Bodh Gaya, Bihar.

Joint secretary at the Dalai Lama Office, Tenzin Taklha said the grand daughter of Mahatma Gandhi, Ila Gandhi, presented the award on the fourth day of the ten-day Kalachakra initiations.

"The award was announced by Ela in South Africa on the occasion of Gandhiji's birth anniversary last year," he said.
