Sources said the tussle between secretary of trustee board Vishnu Prasad Chand Gothia and Prahlad Das was going on for quite some time. On Thursday night, Gothia convened a meeting of the members of the board of trustees and decided to remove Das who had been working for the last 35 years.
However, Das refused to leave the premises and reiterated that he would stay on the campus despite Mahant Avaidyanath’s invite asking him to come over to Gorakhnath temple. He added that the decision of the board of trustees was against the interest and pride of the press. He also invited his followers to discuss the decision.
While talking to mediapersons, Gothia said Das had invited unsocial elements to the press. On the other hand, Das clarified that he had invited few RSS members to discuss the emerging situation.
Following Das’s removal, members of many Hindi organisations rushed to the Gita Press on Friday and discussed the situation with Gothia. They also appealed to him not to remove Das’s nameplate. Sources said state president of Hindu Jagran Manch Rakesh Singh Pahelwan and his supporters were engaged in heated exchange with Gothia, editor Radheshyam Khemka besides manager Baijnath Agrawal.
They said that the board trustees should go in for an amicable solution. A meeting of various Hindu organisations was on at the Gorakhnath temple.
Meanwhile, Gothia alleged that Das had made himself incharge of the Gita Press, misusing his powers.
