Dates for filing claims in panchayat election rolls extended

The Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir has extended the last date till November 22 for filing claims and objections in connection with summary revision of panchayat election rolls.

As per the revised schedule, the period for filing of claims and objection is fixed as November 19 to 22 and disposal of claims and objections will be made from November 23 to 30, CEO B R Sharma has said.

The final publication of electoral rolls will be issued on January 3, 2011, he added.

Sharma said that the Draft electoral rolls are available at the offices of district panchayat officer (Jammu), assistant commissioner development (Jammu), concerned block development officers, panchayatghars and polling stations.
