Day-time power rostering hits life in Gorakhpur

THE power rostering from 6 am to 4 pm is a new experience for the people in the city. Though they are getting adequate power supply at night, but prolonged rostering in day time has paralysed normal functioning in government offices and business activities have been largely affected.

Meanwhile, power supply in rural areas has been reduced to two hours as against 14-hour as claimed by the government.

Former MLA Ambika Singh accused the government of meting out a step-motherly treatment to the people of rural areas.

He said power supply to Kauriram and other areas had been reduced to four hours and people’s patience was running out and this could trigger off law and order problems.
