Doordarshan will telecast live the opening ceremony and first two matches of the football World Cup on its national network on Thursday.

The public broadcaster will also beam the semi-finals and final of the mega event scheduled for July 4, 5 and 9 respectively.

The opening ceremony will be telecast from 7.50 pm to 8.30 pm followed by the Germany-Costa Rica match in Munich from 9.30 pm to 11.30 pm.

There will be pre and post-match analysis of every encounter shown live.

The second match between Poland and Ecuador in Gelsenkirchen would be shown later that night.

One hour highlights capsules of all the matches will also be shown from 4 pm to 5 pm on DD-1 the next day.

ESPN-Star Sports have bagged the exclusive India rights of the football World Cup.
