Soccer fans in India will be able to enjoy FIFA World Cup action on Doordarshan, with public broadcaster Prasar Bharti clinching a deal with the event's exclusive telecast rights holder -- ESPN-Star Sports.

As per the agreement, reached late on Wednesday night, DD will telecast the semifinals and finals of the soccer world cup, Prasar Bharti CEO KS Sarma said in New Delhi.
The world cup is being hosted by Germany from June 9 to July 9.
"We have reached an arrangement with ESPN-Star and this will help give DD viewers access to Live action of the climax matches," Sarma said.
The two broadcasters have agreed on a 25:75 revenue share arrangement for this. "We will keep 25 per cent of the revenues while 75 per cent will go to ESPN-Star," Sarma said, adding that the marketing will be done by Prasar Bharti.
