They handed over a memorandum to the vice-chancellor and threatened to launch a movement if the alleged insensitive attitude of university authorities continued for long.

They demanded that allotment of rooms in Alaknanda Girls Hostel should start and the university should ensure 24-hour power supply by providing generators to all the hostels. They demanded 100 per cent increase in number of seats for research and 50 per cent increase in number of seats in BSc and Bcom courses.
Student leaders Raja Tiwari, Durgesh Ojha, Akhilesh Dubey, Shashikant Singh, Onkar Dhar Dwivedi and others said if their demands were not addressed within a week they would take out a symbolic funeral procession of the vice-chancellor. Meanwhile, Dr YD Singh alleged that lawlessness and corruption was prevailing in the university. He wrote a letter to Governor TV Rajeswar in this regards demanding high power inquiry by a High Court judge to ensure fair examination and save the academic atmosphere of the university. In his letter Dr Singh quoted the incident of Law department where Head Prof Anirudh Prasad was bashed up by students near the administrative building on July 12. He alleged that the chief proctor had miserably failed to punish the miscreants who publicly attacked the teachers.
Dr Singh and former MLC Ravind Nath Mishra expressed their concern over corruption in the university.
