Prof Kumar denied the charges that there was any unrest on the campus and said some confusion at the time of admission rush was a common phenomenon and minor disputes and scuffles could not be equated with unrest. He expressed hope that introduction of semester system examination would bring discipline and students would engage in study the whole year.
Kumar said 25 per cent evaluation marks in subject teachers hans would also discipline the students. This would also improve the atmosphere in university group discussions. Communication with subject teachers would remove misunderstandings and strengthen the relation between teachers and students, he added.
Stressing the need for job-oriented courses in universities, he said under self-financed course, the university had started M Sc in Home Science, Environmental Science and courses in Microbiology, Electronics and Journalism which could provide job to the students. He said the university website was launched and the election of the university court after two decades was also an achievement of the the university.
In reply to a question, Prof Kumar said that rotation system in the department would be introduced as there was no legal abstraction in it and it was in favour of the university.
He said the teachers had sent a proposal to the chancellor seeking permission for conducting research work in postgraduate colleges.
