A decision on the Noida Extension land row that has halted the construction of more than 2 lakh flats for several months could well be on the cards.
The NCR planning board meets on March 26. The board has not been able to clear Greater Noida’s master plan and, as a result, housing projects remain halted. The next day, on March 27, the Allahabad HC is likely to hear a petition filed by the Greater Noida authority, seeking resumption of projects even without the approval of the NCR board.
“We’re hoping for the best. But in case our master plan is not cleared by the NCR board, we will have the hope of a court relief,” said a senior official of the Greater Noida authority.
Abhishek Kumar of the Noida Extension Flat Owners and Members Association said, “We will visit the board office in Delhi to explain our plight and put pressure on officials for early approval. We have approached the planning board. We expect an early approval,” said PC Gupta, deputy chief executive officer of the Greater Noida authority.
