Deepak Patel is COO at Mphasis

Patel, who has been Vice President at EDS, is credited with playing a key role in the EDS India-Mphasis merger.

Bangalore-based IT services provider Mphasis BFL Ltd on Tuesday said it has appointed Deepak Patel as the company's Chief Operating Officer (COO).

"We are extremely happy to have Deepak Patel head our operations. He brings with him valuable experience across diverse positions and will play a key role in leading Mphasis post the recent merger of EDS India and Mphasis," the company's CEO Jerry Rao said while commenting on the appointment.

Rao highlighted Patel's key role in the merger process and said he would be instrumental in ensuring that the combined operations of both entities along with close to 15,000 professionals, would realize their full potential.

Prior to the appointment Patel was the Vice President (Best ShoreSM Strategic Investments and Business Development) at EDS, Mphasis BFL informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
