Delhi Police recover 500-yr-old antique statue
The statue is of Lord Shani and made up of ashthdhatu worth Rs 50 million in the international market.

Delhi Police on Monday arrested two people and recovered a 500-year-old statue of Lord Shani worth Rs 50 million in the international market.
Police said that the statue, which is made of ashthdhatu, was recovered from Kesar Ali, who is an advocate in a revenue court in east Delhi. The 12-inch idol weighed 12 kg.
Officials said that Ali and his accomplice Khurshid Anwer were arrested when they came to Jama Masjid market near Chandani Chowk to sell the idol.
"They had purchased the statue from a priest," said Alok Kumar, deputy commissioner of police.
"We are trying to trace the priest so that we can find the origin of the statue," added Kumar.
"We have also asked archaeologists for help to know more about the statue," he said.
