Delhi government on Thursday, signed agreements with the government of Haryana, NTPC and Damodar Valley Corporation for about 5000 mw of power to meet the demand in the capital.

The capital will get about 2600 mw from DVC as per an MoU signed on Thursday. NTPC will augment the capacity of Badarpur Thermal Power station by 1000 mw.
In addition, 1500 mw power plant will be set up in Haryana. Delhi and Haryana will share the power generated equally. This plant will be managed by NTPC. All these projects will be set up between 2006-12.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, NTPC Chairman T Shankarlingam and Power Secretary R V Shahi were present on the occasion.
