The women delegates put forward their demand regarding formation of a women’s cell owing to increasing cases of abuses and misbehaviour with the female students of the university.

The V-C directed the delegation leaders to put forward their grievances to the newly-formed committee of teachers concerned with the safety of female students.

The V-C also asked them to meet the dean of Student Welfare and the committee.

Meanwhile, AISA president Prem Shankar Singh urged for maximum support from the students at a meeting held at Students’ Union Hall.

He said that AISA will include all the delegates in this protest and urged the students to be present in the next meeting at Students Union Hall on February 4.

Members of AISA and Inqalabi Naujawan Sabha (INS) held a joint meeting on Monday, informed AISA secretary Rajeev Yadav and INS District secretary Alok Srivastava.

The meeting was held to protest the imprisonment of AISA and INS activists in Farukhabad on January 23.

Srivastava said that the State government had been regularly trying to suppress their demands which was impossible.

He said that the system adopted by the State government for distribution of scholarships has many discrepancies depriving the meritorious students of the scholarships.

All the members demanded for immediate release of the imprisoned activists and grant scholarships to the deserving students.
