He had been referred to SGPGI, Lucknow. However, the health department officials had yet not confirmed the dengue patient report in Gorakhpur district.
They admitted that the dengue patients had been found in Sant Kabir Nagar district only.
According to a report, Dharmveer was suffering from high fever since last 10 days and when he was brought to Gorakhpur at a private doctor’s clinic, whereDr Dwivedi found the symptoms of dengue in the patient. He said the patient was suffering from acute pain in the joints, his eyes were red and platelet counts was decreasing day by day. Therefore, he referred the patient to the SGPGI. Senior physician Dr Aziz Ahmad said that there are patients with symptoms of dengue coming to his hospital but the condition of the patient was not that alarming and the fever was control by the medicines. It is to be noted that a dengue patient Sanjay Pandey was earlier detected in village Bhediadeeh of Sant Kabir Nagar district.
Meanwhile, additional director health of Gorakhpur and Basti division Umakant Prasad claimed that department is well prepared to tackle the dengue patients.
He confirmed that a case was detected in Sant Kabir Nagar district and claimed that a team had been constituted under the chairmanship of chief medical officer, Sant Kabir NagarNagar visited the affected village and intensive fogging was carried out. He claimed that so far no dengue patient was reported in district hospital or in medical college.
