Desikottam award for eight maestros
Santiniketan, April 15 (PTI) Visva-Bharati University will confer its highest honour 'Desikottam' this year to actor Soumitra Chatterjee, Tagore scholar of Japan Dohisaku, Korean scholar Yang Sik Chow, music maestro Bal Murli Krishna, scientist CNR Rao and P Mashelkar, dance maestro Birju Maharaj and eminent scholar Rabindra K Dasgupta.

Visva-Bharati University will confer its highest honour 'Desikottam' this year to actor Soumitra Chatterjee, Tagore scholar of Japan Dohisaku, Korean scholar Yang Sik Chow, music maestro Dr Bal Murli Krishna, scientist CNR Rao and P Mashelkar, dance maestro Birju Maharaj and eminent scholar Rabindra K Dasgupta.
The awards will be given at the convocation being held on May 14, Registrar SK Sarkar said.
UGC Chairman Sukhdev Thodat will be present as the guest in chief in the convocation.
