Development programme at MNNIT

A THREE-DAY Executive Development Programme on "Application of Optimisation Techniques in Manufacturing, Process and Service Sectors" will kick-off at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), from Thursday.

A THREE-DAY Executive Development Programme on "Application of Optimisation Techniques in Manufacturing, Process and Service Sectors" will kick-off at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), from Thursday.

Prof Nirjhar Roy, the Chief Co-ordinator of the Programme, informed that Optimisation Technique is the application of modern science on complex problems arising in the management of large system of men, materials, machines and money in industries with the object of achieving excellence in performance.

He said that the objective of the training programme is to create awareness of the use of optimisation techniques for the middle and high level managers of industrial and service sectors who are required to take strategic and tactical decisions in executing their duties and can use optimisation techniques for decision making.

Eminent persons who will deliver invited presentations for the participants during the training programme include Prof B K Mohanty of the Indian Institute of Management-Lucknow, Prof Joydeep Dutta and Prof Partho Chakarvarty of the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur, Prof A K Agrawal from IT-BHU, Varanasi and Dr KK Bhutani, former Head, Computer Centre, University of Allahabad and the present Director UPTEC, informed Sanjaya Kala, Assistant Co-ordinator of the Programme.

Prof GC Nandi, Dean, Academic Affairs, Indian Institute of Information Technology will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural session on April 20 while Prof A B Samaddar, Director, MNNIT will preside over the session, Kala further informed.
