DGP seeks nod to vote

Haryana DGP has sought permission to vote in the polls. He was send on leave as his wife was contesting from Sonepat.

Director General of Police (Haryana) MS Malik, who has been sent on leave following an Election Commission directive as his wife is contesting from Sonipat, has sought permission from the poll body to vote in the May 10 Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Official sources said here today that Malik has sent a written communication to the EC seeking permission to cast his vote in Shamo Kalan village in Jind district, where he is registered as a voter.

Malik has also sought permission of the Commission to take his security personnel also along to the polling station as he is a "Z" category protectee.
