In T20 cricket, batters prioritise boundaries over singles and doubles, constantly aiming for fours and sixes. With the rise of franchise leagues worldwide, modern batters have adapted really well by playing innovative strokes like the ramp shot, scoop and no-look shot to expand their scoring options.

Boundaries play a vital role in any format of the game, often influencing match outcomes and shifting momentum in favour of the batting side. A steady flow of boundaries or crucial hits during tense chases can put pressure on the bowling team. On challenging pitches where scoring is difficult, batters rely on occasional boundaries to maintain a competitive run rate.

The IPL 2025 season too would witness an explosion of boundaries, with top batters consistently finding the ropes. As the race for most boundaries scored by a batter intensifies this season, presently it is Shikhar Dhawan leading the charts with 768 fours.

Dhawan leads the Indian Premier League (IPL) in boundaries, having struck 768 fours across 221 innings from 2008 to 2024. His consistent performance has been instrumental in his teams' successes over the years.

Following Dhawan, Virat Kohli has amassed 705 fours in 244 innings. Kohli's ability to find gaps and maintain a high strike rate has solidified his position as one of the league's top batters. David Warner, known for his aggressive batting style, occupies the third spot with 663 fours in 184 innings.

Rohit Sharma, with his elegant stroke play, has accumulated 599 fours over 252 innings, placing him fourth on the list. His knack for timing and placement has made him a formidable opponent for bowlers. Suresh Raina rounds out the top five with 506 fours in 200 innings.
