Buta Singh has been indicted by the apex court for having misled the union cabinet over the circumstances prevailing in the state prior to the dissolution of the state assembly.
"I personally never favoured the dissolution, but given the circumstances prevailing at that time there was no other option (other than recommending dissolution) left," Paswan told reporters while reacting to the apex court's judgement.
Asked what action the UPA government at the centre would take after the Supreme Court's detailed judgement on the dissolution, Paswan said "the government will take a suitable decision."
On whether he would now try to save Governor Buta Singh's chair, Paswan said "I have never saved anybody's chair."
