District Hockey Assn enter semi-final

DISTRICT HOCKEY Association, Itarsi, Army Bangalore, SCR Ramgarh and Danapur teams entered in semifinal by defeating their opponents in quarterfinal matches played on 6th day of All India Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Gold Cup Hockey tournament at Gandhi mini stadium here on Friday.

DISTRICT HOCKEY Association, Itarsi, Army Bangalore, SCR Ramgarh and Danapur teams entered in semifinal by defeating their opponents in quarterfinal matches played on 6th day of All India Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Gold Cup Hockey tournament at Gandhi mini stadium here on Friday.

Today, the first match was played between SCR, Ramgarh and CRPF, Delhi and in a tough fight Ramgarh team emerged as winner with 1-0. Second match played between Army Bangalore and Signal Core, Jallandhar again was a tough fight and Bangalore team finally won the match by 2-1.

Third match was played between District hockey Association, Itarsi and RPF, Mumbai and Itarsi team emerged victorious 1-0.

The fourth match played between BRC Danapur and Jammu Kashmir Police proved to be a one sided for Danapur team, which won by 4-0.

Semifinal matches in the tournament will be played on Saturday, informed Suresh Dubey, president of District Hockey Association.

Minister for Urban Administration, Housing and Environment Jayant Mallaiya will be the chief guest and Member of Parliament Sartaj Singh would preside over.
