Expressing concern over the presence of these illegal migrants, who could be a possible threat to the national security, the DM has asked SSP to take immediate action on the intelligence output provided to him and identify these individuals. An action taken report (ATR) has been sought from him.

Giving this information, additional district magistrate (Executive) Nagendra Prasad Singh said the information was also important as these people could have got themselves registered as voters or availed any other benefit in the form of bank loan, etc. He said the police officials had told him that they had cross-checked the antecedents of some of these people and found that they were residents of Assam, who had come to the city in search of livelihood.
