Dr Karanth's plays up for release

Four volumes of plays by Jnanapeeta awardee, late Dr Shivaram Karanth will be released on July 15.

Four volumes containing plays written by Jnanapeeta awardee, late Dr Shivaram Karanth under the "Janapriya Sahitya Prakashana Yojane" brought out by the department of Kannada and culture will be released here on July 15.

Announcing this at a joint press conference today, S R Dalwai, assistant director of the department and Prof. B L Samaga, principal of MGM college, Udupi, said the department had already brought out 22 volumes of Dr Karanth's works which included his poems, small stories and novels.

The department had also taken up steps to publish the remaining nine volumes of Dr Karanth's other works they said.
