The 86-year-old, Kurien was admitted to MPU on May 21 due to old age related health problems, hospital sources said in Gujarat on Saturday.

He was shifted on Friday as his condition had not improved in the last 10 days, according to General Manager of MPU hospital Dr K Bhaskaran.

He was taken by a special chartered plane from Vadodara.

Kurien was the pioneer of the white revolution in the country which helped farmers achieve self-sustenance and better price for milk.

Today, the Amul brand which is his brain child, has international reckoning.
