The editorial Selective selection (July 19), is yet another proof that Arjun Singh is in the wrong place. First, it was the havoc created by proposing reservations. Now the interference in the selection of directors for the IIMs has proved that he intends to get an indirect hold over these premier institutes. This will enable him to steer things his way without much resistance and will politicise the educational scenario.
