A man on a morning walk in a Himachal Pradesh village was horrified to find his dog feeding on a dead and discarded new born baby boy.
The man struggled with the dog to snatch the body of the infant from its jaws and reported the matter to the police.
The incident took place on Tuesday at the edge of Gadehri village, some 80 km from here, media reports said on Wednesday.
The police suspect the baby may have been killed immediately after birth and dumped in the fields where the dog found it.
