Eight people killed in Ethiopia wall collapse
At least eight people, including five children lost their lives when a four-metre-tall wall collapsed during heavy rains here, local press reported on Saturday.
The incident took place in a crowded housing colony in the impoverished district of Kolfe-Keranyo in the capital.
The City Fire Department and Emergency Service rescued about a dozen injured people.
A fire that erupted when the wall collapsed was extinguished by fire fighters, but caused damage to property estimated at 200,000 birr ($23,100).
