Eight people, including two troopers, were injured on Thursday when terrorists lobbed a powerful grenade at a Border Security Force (BSF) bunker in Jammu and Kashmir.

Two BSF troopers and six civilians were wounded in the explosion at Chadoora in central Budgam district, 30 km from Srinagar.

The explosion led to panic in the town with people running for cover and traffic being disrupted.

"The injured included six civilian bystanders and two BSF troopers who were manning the bunker on the Chadoora bridge. The injured were taken to hospital for treatment. The condition of one is serious," said a police officer.

He said four of the injured had been referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
