Sir Elton John's big pairs of colourful baggy shorts are up for grabs in New York?s Rockefeller Centre.

Veteran singer Sir Elton John has said 'goodbye' to his yellow patterned pants, as he hopes to raise funds for his Aids charity by selling his shorts.

The 59-year-old singer's big pairs of colourful baggy shorts and a black Versace suite with song titles Tiny Dancer and Rocket Man woven into the fabric are up for grabs in New York’s Rockefeller Centre.

According to The Sun, Elton and partner David Furnish have donated more than 10,000 items from their closets.

Since 1992, the Elton John Aids Foundation has raised more than 90 million dollars to support HIV/Aids prevention and service programmes worldwide.
