Sir Elton John has posed with his cocker spaniels Arthur and Marilyn for Rod Stewart's fiancée Penny Lancaster, who snapped the shots for a charity calendar.

The model and photographer has taken pictures for the annual Pet Pawtraits calendar published by vet charity PDSA, her first assignment since the birth of her son Alastair with Stewart last November.

Most of the celebrities were photographed by Penny in their own homes, and included the likes of pop mogul Simon Cowell, Scottish singer Lulu and TV host Trisha Goddard.

"Animals and photography are two of my biggest passions," BBC quoted the 35-year-old, as saying.

"It's been immense fun and I'm amazed at how well behaved the animals were," she added.

The PDSA (People`s Dispensary for Sick Animals) Pet Pawtraits will be on display at the Mall Galleries in London till 31 August, and are priced at £4.99  each.
