Employees to lock GDA office today
EMPLOYEES of Gorakhpur Development Authority staged a dharna and boycotted the routine work for fulfilment of their demands. Presiding over the dharna, secretary of GDA employees joint organisations, Satish Chandra Tripathi said the employees union had handed over eight-point charter of demands to the vice-chairman and secretary for Urban Development but they failed to take any initiative.
Employees have decided to lock all the offices of GDA from Tuesday and said there was no other option to mount pressure on officials.
Tripathi blamed vice-chairman RP Arora for persuading the policies of harassment of the employees and said the employees would not compromise this time.
President of the association Jaiprakash Mishra blamed V-C for adopting confrontational postures and to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the office.
They demanded to regularise the services of the employees who are working on assignment from last one decade and said 50 per cent DA should be merged in the basic salary. Employees’ leader said GDA was not paying the house rent to their employees as per other development authorities and demanded medical facilities and HRA along with conveyance for the field workers in the authorities.
They said the development work in the city has come to a grinding halt from last one year and the income of the authorities was decreasing by each passing day.
Union leader Satyendra Kumar Singh, Bharat Pandey, Shivkumar Pandey, Rijazuddin, Sanjeev Gupta and others appealed the employees to maintain their solidatory and to show their strength for fulfillment of their genuine demands.
Various employees’ organisation extended their support to the strike of GDA employees.
