According to information, Manoj Nayar was posted in the Govindpura region. Complainant, Raghuveer Marval was getting his house constructed at Anand Nagar and he had applied for an electricity connection. However, Nayar had demanded Rs 5000 bribe to provide connection at Raghuveer’s house.
Raghuveer lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta police which set a trap and Nayar was caught red-handed accepting bribe. A challan was presented in the court after investigation.
After examining witnesses and investigating relevant documents, the court of First Additional District Judge Anil Thakre found Nayar guilty and sentenced him to one- year rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 2000.
