He asked officials to strictly abide by the directions of the Supreme Court and Punjab and Haryana High Court in this regard.

The court has asked the administration to maintain status quo in the said area.

“No new construction will be allowed in the restricted zone,” said the DC to the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) as a major portion around the depot falls under its jurisdiction.

The MCG has constituted four teams under its executive engineers to ensure that the status quo is maintained.

Besides, the joint commissioners also ensure compliance of the court orders.

The DC has asked additional deputy commissioner KM Pandurang to submit the status report in a week’s time.

“If any new construction is found to be carried out, action will be initiated against the person concerned and also against the MCG officer concerned under whose jurisdiction it lies,” added the DC.

Meena also directed police officials to immediately register an FIR against the person concerned for taking up construction whenever a complaint was made.

He also directed district revenue officer Tarsem Sharma to display the names, mobile numbers and e-mail addresses of officers responsible for stopping construction activities in the public domain so that people can file a complaint to the officer concerned.
