Director of Secondary Education, Sanjay Mohan, in his letter dated January 7 to all divisional directors and district inspectors of schools, stated that even though funds had been made available for disbursement of remuneration to the Board examiners in July, many invigilators and examiners have not received it.
Notably, the remuneration should have been disbursed by August 8.
The director stated in the letter it was unfortunate that disbursement to the invigilators and examiners had not yet been made and if prompt action was not taken then the funds might be sent back.
He had warned if the examiners were not given the amount by January 26, the officials concerned shall be held responsible for laxity.
In the event of any difficulty cropping up during the scheduled Board examination 2006 due to delay in payment of remuneration, the officials concerned shall be liable for punishment, the director cautioned in his letter.
Similarly, senior finance and accounts officer of Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad , Dilip Pandey, in his subsequent letters to all joint directors and DIOS on July 20, July 22, August 31 and September 8, had asked to make payment of remuneration to the examiners, clerks, peons and bundle bearers. However, this also failed to yield any result.
MLC Dr Yagya Datt Sharma charged the education department officials with showing carelessness in discharging their duties that could cause problem in the forthcoming examinations. He expressed surprise over the lackadaisical functioning of the DIOS offices all over the State.
Ashok Dubey, another teacher activist, rapped the education officials for their failure in disbursing more than 50 per cent of remuneration amount released by the State Government.
When contacted, DIOS Mahendra Singh Yadav, said that the cheques had been sent to the respective colleges and principals had been asked to ensure their distribution at the earliest.
