Expedite process to set up medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh: Scindia

In his letter, Scindia said the decision to set up the colleges were approved during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime when Ghulam Nabi Azad was the Union health minister, however, the state government did not send memorandums of understanding (MoUs) pertaining to the colleges to the Centre.

“These two medical colleges were approved along with five other medical colleges at Vidisha, Ratlam, Shahdol, Khandwa and Datia. While the MoUs of these five colleges were sent, those for colleges at Shivpuri and Chhindwara have curiously not been sent till now,” he writes in the letter.

The senior Congress leader said even nodal officers were appointed for the two colleges (Shivpuri and Chhindwara), but for some reasons the MoUs of the two colleges were not sent to the ministry of health and family welfare.

Scindia also reminded Chouhan that earlier too he (Scindia) had spoken to latter about the need for setting up the medical college and the delay in this regard, as the region lacks in health facilities.
