WITH COMPLETION of its second phase of restoration, the historic Gauhar Mahal is all set for an exclusive retail outlet – Mrignaynee Plus.

With an exquisitely decorated plush interior, the new outlet is awaiting inauguration by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday. It is showcasing some exclusively designed artifacts and handicraft products of Madhya Pradesh Handloom & Handicraft Corporation.

According to official sources, the outlet has displayed products not available in any of the Mrignaynee outlets in the State.

The showroom has designer wind chimes, stone and wooden artifacts and designer jewelleries for customers. “We’re also presenting jute coloured curtains (chics) and drapers, which would be tailor-made as per customers’ demand,” an official said.

In the handloom segment, exclusively designed textile collections of Chanderi, Maheshwar and Kosa have been displayed. The jewellery range consists of tribal, costume and metal ones. Right from toys to decorative pieces, the outlet would offer items ranging from Rs 20 to Rs 70,000.

“Initially, we have kept items worth Rs 20 lakh, which would gradually be increased,” the official adds. For a connoisseur, the new showroom of the Corporation at the historical Gauhar Mahal is likely to be a center of attraction.
