?FANAA? ENJOYED a bumper opening in the industrial city. The film about the love affair of a terrorist with a blind girl, has all shows booked till the next week. Forget the protests in Gujarat and Varanasi, here the film is generating heat for want of tickets. Had it not been for security, there would have been much gate crashing at the Rave Multiplex and the single window at Heer Palace, where the film opened to all shows full! The response certainly dissuaded the VHP and Bajrang Dal activists who had planned an elaborate protest on the release.

But the crowd’s zest to watch the movie at any cost ensured that the film was released in a most peaceful manner on Friday.
The security was in place as much for rabble-rousers. Local police, too, contributed with its men. Khaleeq Ahmed, assistant manager of Heer Palace, said the film was much anticipated and so was the crowd.
“After a long time, a film has got such an opening amid such intense protest,” he added. Movie buffs such as Gaurav Pandey, Alok Kacker, Sunila Yadav, Deep Mala Verma, Shweta Dixit were all praise for the film.
“The onscreen chemistry between Aamir and Kajol is excellent, cinematography is superb,” says Kacker.
For Deep Mala, “Bollywood has got a much-needed saleable couple.”
Kajol again looked perfect and no one could say she was making a comeback, she said.
