Father-in-law slits throat for denying sex

In a shocking expose, a woman undergoing treatment in a Bihar hospital revealed that her father-in-law had slit her throat because she had refused to have sex with him.

Rubi Devi, 30, who was fortunate to have survived the fatal attack and is recovering in a hospital in Muzaffarpur, told police that her father-in-law Chatu Mahto had abused and beaten her when she rejected his proposal.

Angered by the refusal, Mahto, who is in his 50s, ordered Rubi to leave the house saying that his son Buddhan Mahto, a migrant worker in New Delhi, was fed up of her ugly face.

"My father-in-law forced me to board the train to my father's place. When the train stopped at Chakia, he asked me to get down and accompany him. Then he took me near a thick bush and attacked me with a sharp knife. When I fell down, he slit my throat and left the place assuming me to be dead," Rubi told police.

She was found by some locals in a critical condition and was then taken to the hospital.
