Female workers can work in night shifts:Govt

State Govts have provided exemption under their respective Shop and Establishments Act to IT and IT Enabled Services to enable them to engage female workers at night.

This is subject to certain conditions meant to safeguard the safety and interest of female workers, Labour and Employment Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said in a written reply.

He said whenever there is violation of labour laws, appropriate action is taken by the state government concerned in accordance with these laws.
