Singh also issued a warning to persons involved in black marketing and illegal hoarding of fertilisers in the district.

He said that sufficient stock of DAP was available in the market. IPL Company had made 2400 metric tonnes of DAP available to the district for distribution to private shops and cooperative societies. Besides, the IFFCO had supplied another 2469 metric tonnes.

“Thus, around one lakh tonnes of DAP was presently available and another one lakh sacks would be provided to the district within the next few days,” he said. There was enough DAP stock and people could purchase the same by making a payment of Rs 474.50 per bag, he claimed.

In case, any shopkeeper demanded more than the fixed rate, the same should immediately be informed to the district agriculture officer and joint director Agriculture, he added.

“If the complaint is found true, stringent action would be taken against the guilty under the National Security Act,” said Singh.

He asked the farmers to check the certificate tag on every sack before purchasing.
