Half-a-dozen missed catches and at least 30 extra runs conceded in the field by the Andhra fielders helped Tamil Nadu pile up 313 for 8 in 50 overs. In reply, Andhra fell short by 39 runs, scoring 274 for 7.

Karnataka in knockouts

An allround performance by Sunil Joshi (47 off 29 and 5 for 20) helped Karnataka beat Goa by 123 runs and qualify for the knockout phase on Tuesday.
