Inclement weather continued to haunt the Elite Group B Ranji Trophy match between Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh at the Green Park Stadium on Friday.

After no play happened on Thursday, due to a soggy outfield and continuous drizzle, early morning rain on Friday almost washed out the third day's proceedings too.

But the grounds men got the outfield playable around 4 pm and nine overs were possible before bad light stopped play.

Resuming at 9/2, Himachal ended at 23 for 2.

The day's only highlight was Sangram Singh's drive off RP Singh in the fourth over. Vineet Indulkar, the other opener, played cautiously. With just a day left in the contest, result is ruled out.
