Ghaziabad Development Authority officials have lodged an FIR against a senior employee of a private builder at the Indirapuram police station.

Superintendent of police SS Yadav confirmed that an FIR under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code had been lodged against the company official. Last week, GDA officials had found that 170 flats in two towers of the company’s project at Indirapuram violated norms.
The executive director of the firm said the company had sought information about the FIR and was ready to pay the required penalty.
In addition to their survey to detect deviations from norms at various housing projects in Ghaziabad, senior officials of the GDA have ordered that entire project details be put up at the site by the builders to allow transparency and also for the knowledge of the buyers.
GDA vice-chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav said that from now, it would be mandatory to put up the project details at the site.
“This would include the details of architects, supervisors and technical information. The buyers should have full knowledge about the project. This would even help GDA officials in inspections,” Yadav said.
The authority has also begun maintaining a database on builders, with details of their completed projects and even those which are incomplete.
The move came after GDA officials learnt that only a handful of builders had applied for completion certificates for their projects with the authority in the past two years.
