THE DAV College will lodge an FIR against two dealing clerks of the college and some unnamed bank employees for their involvement in the admission fraud. The college management has also started scrutinising of all the 18,000 admission forms.

On Saturday, 32 more students turned up with necessary papers showing that they had deposited their fee but their names were missing from the final admission list. The number of such aggrieved students has gone up to 42 and the figure will rise further when the examination process concludes.
Meanwhile, the college management identified two assistant clerks— Rajesh Shrivastava and Akhilesh Patel for their involvement in the scam.
DAV College principal Dr Ashok Saxena said: “The FIRs will be lodged against two clerks and the unnamed bank employees with the Kotwali police by September 4 on the basis of internal inquiry.” He told Hindustan Times that the lodging of complaint had become unavoidable to ensure justice for the bonafide students who would lost their claim of getting examination forms to appear at the final examinations this year.
On the other hand if the aggrieved students move the court, the college management will be trapped. In the wake of new cases coming up, the college authorities began examining all the 18,000 admission forms to detect the fraud.
It is worth mentioning that the principal had received complaints from about 10 students whose names were not included in the admission list though they had deposited the fee. After verifying the counterfoils of the pay-in-slips of the bank, Dr Saxena found that their names were deleted fraudulently by the college staff in connivance with the bank staff. He instituted an inquiry into the matter and finally on the findings of the inquiry, the FIR would be lodged.
It is alleged that the racket of deleting the names of bona-fide students from the final list has been continuing for the past several years. Students in the past also complained of deletion of their names from the admission list but the then principals did not take their complaints seriously as they believed that it was not possible to tamper the bank counterfoils or to issue fake counterfoils to the college and to keep it with the bank record.
However, this time Dr Saxena asked the bank to provide the complete record of the deposited fee to tally them with the counterfoils issued to the depositors. Bank records also confirmed bungling in the admissions.
