Fire at Sahara Ganj shop

A SMALL fire broke out in a garment shop on the second floor of the Sahara Ganj mall on Tuesday evening. The fire started in the changing room of the shop. About half-a-dozen persons, including security guards and helpers, were sent to a private hospital for suffocation related treatment. Details about loss of the property were yet to be known. The cause behind the fire was being investigated, stated the Sahara Ganj management. It said the fire fighting team responded immediately and the fire was extinguished soon.

The cause behind the fire was being investigated, stated the Sahara Ganj management.


It said the fire fighting team responded immediately and the fire was extinguished soon. The fire fighting team had to break a few glasses of the façade to let the smoke out. The mall was evacuated immediately within minutes of the alarm.

The management stated that the gathering of visitors and the retailers cooperated with the management in the evacuation effort.

It said the mall would open at its normal time tomorrow.
