Fire in Rajdhani Express
A fire broke out in the generator car of the New Delhi bound Rajdhani Express on Saturday at New Bongaigaon station but there was no casualty or major damage.
North East Frontier Railway spokesman Samir Goswami told PTI that after the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express had just left the New Bongaigaon station, a fire was spotted in the rear generator coach.
The train was stopped and the fire extinguisher in the coach was used to douse the flame.
Goswami said that the fire was caused by a short circuit and the fire brigade was not needed to put off the flame.
The train was delayed by two hours as a thorough check was carried out in the train and it left with the same rear generator coach.
