Fire in Udyog Bhavan

There was fire at the Udyog Bhawan on Friday. The fire department swift response contained the situation within 20 minutes without major damage.

A fire broke out in the fifth floor of Udyog Bhawan on Friday following which five fire tenders were rushed to contain it. The fire was doused within 20 minutes and the damage was limited.

Fire department received the call of fire at 10.35 AM and immediately five fire tenders were rushed to contain it, said a Fire department official.

An air conditioner in a room on the fifth floor had caught fire, said the official. Employees were asked to evacuate the building, he added.

The cause of this fire was not established immediately. Officials suspect that it was caused by a shortircuit.
