An entire family of seven was killed when a fire broke out in their house in Phek town on Tuesday night, delayed reports reaching Kohima said.

An entire family of seven was killed when a fire broke out in their house in Phek town on Tuesday night, delayed reports reaching Kohima said.

Sources at Phek said the fire had not been noticed by neighbours till it had engulfed the house. The victims included the father, mother and their five children, all of whom were sleeping in the first floor of the house. The fire, which initially broke out in the kitchen in the ground floor, may have gone out of control as the family had stored petrol in the house, the sources said.
