Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan dedicated to people the e-treasury in a grand function at Samanvay Bhavan here today.
A representative of Surjit Motors, Manwani, deposited the tax amount using the online facility and got e-receipt becoming the first cyber-tax payer. The Chief Minister congratulated him for this.
Addressing the function, the Chief Minister said the State Government was committed to transforming Madhya Pradesh into a pioneering State in key sectors of development by constructively harnessing information technology. He appreciated officials for their role in strengthening the State financial management system and launching of the e-treasury.
He urged taxpayers to take full advantage of the online facility for paying tax on time without any inconvenience. Describing the launch of e-treasury as a mile-stone in the history of finance management of the State, Finance Minister Raghavji said this would save a lot of time of the taxpayers as they could pay their amount from any part of the country as per their convenience.
This is a transparent system and would further strengthen the democracy and financial administration system. He congratulated officials of the Finance, Commercial Taxes, Directorate, Treasures and Accounts for this landmark initiative.
Commercial Taxes Minister Babulal Gaur described the e-treasury as an epoch-making step towards financial management system. Principal Secretary Finance Sumit Bose said the e-treasury is a customer service-based facility
