Five policemen booked for custodial death of two youths

Five policemen and three others were asked to appear before a session court here in connection with the death of two youths including a dalit during their custody at Budhana police station in the district six years ago.

Five policemen and three others were asked to appear before a session court here in connection with the death of two youths including a dalit during their custody at Budhana police station in the district six years ago.

The Judicial Magistrate Ranu Rao sent the case to a session court and asked all the eight accused to appear before it on September 17.

According to prosecution, two youths including a dalit Padem Singh had died in police custody during interrogation at Budhana police station in 2003.

A case was registered against the then station house officer of Budhana Inspector Adesh Sharma, Sub-inspector V K Tewatia, three constables -- Brijesh, Pravin and Hafis-- and three others, the prosecution said.
