Though the rain has subsided in several districts, overflowing rivers, streams and lakes have inundated crops and houses. Large stretches of roads — including national highways were cut off — severely affecting transportation. Several trains were cancelled especially towards north Coastal Andhra.

Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam witnessed more rains on Sunday, while many villages in the Godavari districts were inundated.

All major reservoirs — Nagarjuna Sagar, Sirsailam, Jurala etc — are filled to the brim. Revenue minister Raghuveera Reddy pegged preliminary losses at Rs 1727 crore.
